1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the FixerCo website, platform and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, posting a job, submitting a quote or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. About FixerCo
FixerCo operates an Australian online marketplace that connects customers seeking air conditioning installation with licensed local installers ("tradies"). FixerCo is not a party to the installation contract between a customer and a tradie. FixerCo provides the platform, identity and licence verification, communication tools and deposit collection only.
3. Customer Terms
- You must be 18+ and authorised to procure the installation at the nominated address.
- The information you provide in your job request must be accurate and complete.
- Your contact details remain private until you accept a quote and pay the FixerCo deposit.
- You may shortlist up to three quotes per job and negotiate up to two rounds with each shortlisted tradie.
- Off-platform contact, solicitation or payment with a tradie outside the FixerCo flow is prohibited.
4. Tradie Terms
- You must hold a current Australian electrical/refrigeration installation licence and current public liability insurance.
- You authorise FixerCo to verify your licence, ABN and insurance details.
- You must submit accurate quotes and only quote on jobs you can fulfil within the timeframes indicated.
- You must not solicit FixerCo customers off-platform, share their contact details, or attempt to bypass the platform fee.
- Detailed tradie obligations are set out in the Tradie Terms.
5. Platform Fee Policy
When a customer accepts a quote, the customer pays FixerCo a platform deposit equal to 10% of the agreed job value, capped at A$499. This deposit is FixerCo's platform fee and is retained by FixerCo in full. The tradie then invoices the customer directly for the remainder (agreed amount minus the deposit).
The deposit is non-refundable, except where the tradie is subsequently banned from FixerCo, is found to have provided fraudulent licence or insurance details, or fails to attend or perform the job in breach of these Terms.
6. Quote Accuracy Policy
Quotes are submitted as either a fixed price or an estimate range. Where a quote is provided as an estimate, the final invoiced amount must fall within the quoted range unless the customer agrees in writing to a variation arising from changes in scope or unforeseen on-site conditions.
Customers may flag a price variation through the platform after job completion. FixerCo will review the variation and may, at its discretion, mediate, adjust tradie performance metrics, or commence the dispute resolution process set out below.
7. Privacy and Contact Details
Customer phone numbers, email addresses and street addresses are hidden from tradies until the job is confirmed (status: active) following deposit payment. Tradie contact details are likewise hidden from the customer until that point. Full data handling is described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Prohibited Conduct
- Soliciting, contacting or transacting with the other party outside the FixerCo platform prior to job confirmation.
- Submitting fake, inflated or collusive quotes.
- Posting jobs you do not intend to commission.
- Using the platform to harass, defame or discriminate.
- Attempting to reverse-engineer, scrape or interfere with the Service.
Breach of this section may result in account suspension, ban, forfeiture of fees, and referral to authorities.
9. Dispute Resolution
The customer and tradie agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute directly. If unresolved within seven (7) days, either party may raise a dispute through the FixerCo dispute form. FixerCo will review the evidence and may, in its discretion, mediate, issue refunds where warranted under section 5, adjust ratings, or sanction the offending party.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FixerCo's aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the platform fee paid for the job in question. FixerCo is not liable for the quality, workmanship, warranty or timing of any installation, nor for any indirect or consequential loss.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales for any dispute arising in connection with the Service.
