Privacy policy
Last updated 20 July 2026
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains, in plain language, what personal information FixerCo collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
Who we are
FixerCo provides local job leads to Australian trade businesses. When we say "we", "us", or "FixerCo" in this policy, we mean the FixerCo business. When we say "you", we mean a tradie or business that signs up for or uses FixerCo.
Information we collect
We only collect what we need to set you up, send you leads, and support you. That includes:
- Account details: your business name, contact name, phone number, email, trade, and the postcodes or service area you cover.
- Billing details: your plan and payment status. Card payments are processed securely by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not see or store your full card number.
- Lead information: the enquiry details of homeowners we match to you (their name, contact number, suburb, and what they asked for), which we pass to you so you can quote the job.
- Support and usage information: messages you send us, and basic technical data such as log data and the device or browser you use, collected to keep the service secure and working.
How we use your information
We use your personal information to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Match you to relevant local leads and deliver them by SMS, email, or your chosen method.
- Process your payments, credits, and returns.
- Send you service messages about your account and your leads.
- Provide support and respond to your questions.
- Improve the service and keep it secure.
- Meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
Leads contain other people's information
A lead includes a homeowner's personal information. When we deliver a lead to you, you become responsible for handling that person's information lawfully. You must only use it to quote and provide the service they asked for, keep it secure, and comply with the Privacy Act 1988, the Spam Act 2003, and the Do Not Call Register when you contact them. Do not use lead information for unrelated marketing or share it with anyone else.
Messages and marketing
Operational messages about your account and your leads (for example, a new lead by text) are part of the service you sign up for.
You can opt out of any marketing messages at any time by replying STOP to a marketing SMS, using the unsubscribe link in an email, or contacting support. Opting out of marketing does not stop the operational messages you need to use the service.
Call recording
We may record phone calls we make or take, for example when our team calls a homeowner about their enquiry or speaks with you about your account. Recording is for quality, training, and record-keeping. Recordings are stored securely, access is limited to authorised staff, and you can ask us about a recording that involves you or ask us not to record a call with you.
When we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these situations:
- With service providers who help us run FixerCo, such as payments (Stripe), messaging (Twilio), email (Resend), and hosting (Vercel and Supabase). They are only permitted to use the information to provide their service to us.
- With the tradie a lead is matched to, in the case of a homeowner's enquiry details.
- Where we are required or authorised to by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
Storage and security
We protect your information with encryption in transit and at rest, secured infrastructure, and access limited to authorised people. Some of our providers may store or process information overseas. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it to provide the service and to meet our legal obligations. When it is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to keep the site secure. We do not run third-party advertising trackers on our site.
Accessing, correcting, or deleting your information
You can access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time through your account or by contacting support. If you ask us to delete information we are required to keep (for example, for tax or billing records), we will let you know.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first and we will work to put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows the current version. If we make a significant change, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
